Better Emoji Picker

Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 15, 2026

Better Emoji Picker is a personal project by a single developer, not a company. It's an emoji picker for Windows that opens with a keyboard shortcut. The short version: it doesn't connect to the internet and it doesn't collect anything about you. This page spells out what it touches on your PC and why.

What the app touches

Where it's kept

Everything stays on your own PC, in the app's own local data area, which Windows removes when you uninstall it: your settings, your favorites, your recent emoji, and a few small diagnostic files (how long the app took to start, and details of a crash if one happens).

What it doesn't do

Third parties

Microsoft Store, if you installed the app from there: Microsoft may collect what it normally collects for any Store app (installs, crashes, ratings) under its own privacy policy, which is outside this app's control.

This website

This website is static and hosted on Cloudflare Pages. It uses no cookies, no analytics and no third-party resources: everything is served from this same domain. Cloudflare, as the hosting provider, processes technical data about each visit (such as the IP address) to serve the page and protect it from abuse, under its own privacy policy. The demo search box on the home page runs entirely in your browser: what you type into it isn't sent anywhere.

Your control

Children

The app isn't directed at children under 13 and doesn't knowingly collect data from anyone.

Changes to this policy

If anything relevant changes, this page will be updated with a new date at the top.
